New Student Checklist

Prepare for a successful semester!

Use the checklist below as a guide to help you through the college process.

1. Review admission requirements and apply online.

2. Apply for financial aid and determine how to pay for college.

3. Submit official transcripts from high school and/or college previously attended.

4. Complete placement testing for writing and math.

5. Schedule an appointment with an academic advisor. 

6. Register for classes. Refer to the registration guide or contact KPC Registration at kpc.registration@alaska.edu for assistance. 

7. Review your account balance in UAOnline and pay your bill.

8. Purchase textbooks through the KPC Bookstore.

9. Attend a New Student Orientation (NSO) session.
