Safety is everybody's business.
All KPC campuses and sites work with local law enforcement agencies to minimize criminal activity. It is important that when students, staff, faculty or visitors have any safety concerns or witness any crime or breach of the college Code of Conduct they contact KPC leadership or other college employees immediately. If there are no college employees available, the local police should be notified.
Campuses are accessible to members of the public during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, and for limited hours on Saturday and Sunday, while classes are in session. During semester breaks, hours of access are reduced but are posted at the entrances. Most buildings are closed to all but faculty and staff for holidays.
UAA provides Campus Security Reports for KRC and KBC that include campus crime statistics for the three most current years; campus security measure; crime reporting and alert procedures; crime prevention strategies and educational programs; the sexual offenses policy, complaint procedures, and disciplinary actions for violations of alcohol and other drug policies.
To report an injury, incident, or unsafe condition, notify your immediate supervisor and submit a KPC Incident Report (use your SSO credentials). This form is not to be used during an emergency or life-threatening hazard. For immediate emergency response call 911. This form is only to be used after needed medical attention has been arranged.
Should there be an immediate threat to the health or safety of the campus community, KPC will issue an alert to students and staff through the Incident Management Team on your campus. This notification may occur via text message, telephone, email, website updates, and/or KPC social media. Students and employees can customize how the University contacts them by updating their profile information and adding a text and mobile phone number at: https://UAAlert.alaska.edu.
