Online classes will meet as scheduled unless informed otherwise by the instructor.

Medical Assisting

Overview

KPC is proud to partner with UAS to offer a certificate in medical assisting on the Kenai Peninsula.

If you are interested in a career in the healthcare field, there is a growing demand for medical assistants. Working alongside healthcare practitioners, these multi-skilled allied health professionals function as a member of healthcare delivery teams, primarily in ambulatory settings such as medical offices and clinics, under the supervision of a licensed health care practitioner.

A new cohort begins each fall. Hybrid courses are taught online with face-to-face required clinical skills lab intensives twice a semester.

Medical assistants are multi-skilled health professionals specifically educated to work primarily in ambulatory care settings, such as physician’s offices, clinics and outpatient care centers under the direct supervision of physicians, nurse practitioners or physician assistants. Medical assistants perform both administrative and clinical duties.
